The Ford Ranch
This became ours on 2/29/08. It really isn't a ranch, but it is 6 acres, complete with a pond with turtles, bass, and frogs, cattle birds, herons and ducks among others, and of course 6 dogs to keep it busy.

January 2016 - can we start over?
Well January turned out to be a strange month.
Mom had her yearly Mammogram in December and they called her the last week of December and said you need to have another Mammogram and Ultrasound.
Jan. 4th - Had what is called a Diagnostic Mammogram and Ultra Sound in Baytown and it confirmed that a mass / tumor was there. We decided to skip the visit back to the regular doctor to be referred to a general surgeon to get referred again. I got paperwork together and we with an Oncologist at Baylor in Houston.
Jan. 14th - Confirmed at the Imaging center at Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor by another Mammogram, Ultra Sound that there was something and a Biopsy was obtained.
Jan. 15th - Phone call received that it was Cancer. Slow growing, small and localized.
Jan. 21st - Appointment with Oncologist - presented a plan, won't be chemo, should just be lumpectomy, and possibly of Radiation but won't know that for a while. It is classified as a Stage 1.
Jan. 26th - Appointment with Surgeon - presented her plan and set up surgery date.
Jan. 29th - Surgery date! Arrived at 0600, at 0730 a visit to imaging department and had a Localization Marker inserted (wire loop in the boob), about 0930 nuclear medicine came down and injected her (Nuked boob), and 1115 they took her in. She came out of surgery with flying colors, and we were back at her house by 1535 (3:35)
Now everything the surgeon had to say was good, but we still have to wait for that final pathology report.
No one is free of this disease. My good friend just rang the cancer free bell last week, I work with a woman that went through this 2 years ago, a flyball friend, someone in Austin I know, Mom lost a friend about 5 years ago, a rescue friend last year.....and this is only one kind of CANCER!

Happy Happy New Year - 2016
Started off with lots of noise in the neighborhood, CNN with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin and in bed before midnight! Woohoo!
LSR Holiday party on the 2nd, and I decided to go Moscow Mule - not bad!
No New Years resolutions, because why say something that will end in 2 months. Everyone knows what they need to do better so just do it. My only goal is to the buy a lotto ticket once a month, because I say "if I won the lottery I would do ...." well I never by that ticket, so here goes.
I did make French Baguettes over the weekend, it's a 20 hour event! Why because I mistakenly bought bread flour and didn't want to return it. Hey, and it worked, tasted as good as it looked!
