December 2015 - Florida arrives
Florida crew arrived on the 18th, so we had 2 daughter-n-laws and 5 grandkids at the house!!!! It was pizza making night, and they cooked out on the Big Green Egg!
It was great seeing the kids play together. Keegan and Ryley played thumb wars and Jenga. Ella followed Alice around and assisted her when she stumbled. It was the best 1.5 days I've ever had.
Ryley and family had to leave that morning, and later that afternoon Chris and Jax drove in from Florida. Sam fired up the Big Green Egg again for bacon wrapped jalapeños and burgers.
Monday the kids and I hit the small amusement park in Nasa but received news that Jax was taking a turn for the worse. Later that afternoon the kids gave their goodbyes to him and we went to the vet. Jax was a rescue puppy found in Grand Isle by the kids when they were stationed there, and he was the most perfect rescue ever for a notice couple. He did an excellent job of training Chris and Roni, and in return was the most perfect dog that kids could ever hope to have. He was amazing. What I have done more times than I like to think about was the first time that Roni and Chris had to experience, it was heartbreaking but yet they knew in their hearts it would relieve him of the pain. Jax is now at the Rainbow Bridge with his friends TC and many others.
That evening we had another family get together with Granny, Gary and Jo for gifts and food. Sam broke out the Big Green Egg for Prime Rib.
Tuesday Roni went off to a meeting and we had dreary, yucky fog all day. One of the highlights was Keegan was introduced to Star Wars, we had a marathon movie adventure and he is all caught up and ready for the new movie!
