November 13, 2015 (Friday the 13th)
Now what day of the week is it? Out in the ocean you forget which day of the week it is. On one cruise line they even put carpet on
the elevator’s floor with the day of the week but not on this line.
As best I can tell it is Friday but don’t
test me.
All blue water all day is the motto for
today. Sunny, low 80’s with just a
cotton ball or two in the sky. Our
balcony is perfect for just hanging out but for Terrie it is the walking deck
and the sun deck. For me it is catch up
day on e mail and things needing attention.
Regrettably I can think of anything that takes my attention. Vacation is working.
As I said before you spend the days
planning meals. We have enjoyed the main
dining area and the flood aboard has been excellent but there are two specialty
restaurants on board. An Italian
one called Sabatini and a steak house
called The Crown Grill. For just a small
up charge you get an even better level of food than served in the dining
room. Reservations are required so if
you ever fine yourself cruising be sure and try these specialty places.
Sabatini’s was really wonderful Italian
food. Terrie and I both chose the
lobster three ways along with a great starter and pasta. All this with top notch service is a much
more personal atmosphere. We brought
along a wonderful Amarone from the Masi vineyard to top off a real night out.
We also got reservations at the Crown
Grill one evening. A lobster starter, a
fresh salad and a 22 ounce Porterhouse was the order for me. Terrie settled for the filet. Way tender and cooked just right.
So as I said before I think sea days are
eating festivals which makes sea days just perfect.
